Standing Alone
Our individuality is what makes us unique.
When we are young, we try to morph into what is considered the norm to blend in. Because standing out as a young person is scary. We follow trends and try and become what we admire in others. We lose sight of who we are and what we care about all so that we can be accepted.
Age makes us realize that our differences are what make us special. When we stay true to ourselves and embrace our individuality, we can be authentic. Authenticity is what draws people to us.
The Lone Cyprus tree, one of the most photographed trees in North America, would not be nearly as memorable if it were clustered among others like it. Because it stands alone, it stands out!
